Yes, per-user fees force efficient use of limited resources.
No, the benefits of roads flow also to those who do not use them. We should all help pay through taxes.

McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group (CIG) and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Form Strategic Alliance

NECA Members to Receive Discounts on Various McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group Products

NEW YORK, N.Y., January 7, 2002 - The McGraw-Hill Companies' (NYSE: MHP) Construction Information Group (CIG) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) today announced a strategic alliance. The alliance is designed to expand electrical contractor representation in CIG's marketplace community, while providing NECA members with attractive discounts on CIG product offerings.

Under the terms of the agreement, NECA members can access Dodge's database of over 500,000 active projects and over 60,000 digitized plans, specs and addenda at attractive discounted rates. In addition, NECA members will receive discounts on Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine, professional books and a free weekly electronic newsletter, Constructionmail.

"McGraw-Hill CIG is the nation's leading provider of construction information and a great addition to our NECA Value Added Services program. We are looking forward to working with McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group to develop additional offerings specifically for NECA members. These offerings will save our members time and money, and ultimately make them more productive and profitable," said Rob Colgan, marketing director, National Electrical Contractors Association.

"With over 650,000 electrical contractors currently working in the U.S., this partnership with NECA will not only bring more electrical workers into CIG's larger construction community, but will help to further grow NECA's membership through the enhanced benefits NECA members will receive," said Norbert Young, president, McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group. "NECA has a long standing relationship with CIG and is a valued partner, " added Mr. Young.

The agreement between the two parties also extends to the Internet. Construction.com, the point of convergence for all CIG electronic properties, will hyperlink its 'Resource Center' component with www.necanet.org. Likewise, the NECA site will provide links to CIG family websites. NECA with its partner, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), is also a sponsor of CIG's industry portal, construction.com.

Also in the works is an e-newsletter provided via construction.com, a Professional Practice Library, which includes a technical information series, business indicators and salary surveys, annual meeting proceedings, and a research and reference collection.
